Most of you have seen the bikes I am riding now,so I am starting this off with some you haven't seen.
A German Spec.CL72- 250 Scrambler, noticeable by the cool small turn signals and larger drum brakes from the 305.It originally arrived to me in Green Metallic paint, painted by the original owner(Green bikes and me have a long history). He brought it back from overseas after his tour of duty in the Navy.I kept it till the early '90's,selling it to a exporter who sent it back to Japan for a private collection. It was a neat low mileage original bike, except for the paint.

This is a 1964 CB77,a 305 Superhawk. This was my first hot street bike. The one that taught me how to make drum brakes work. Sorry I couldn't find a completed photo of it,I sold it around the early '90's.

This is the first Ducati single I bought. It started life as a 350 Sebring.I heavily worked this over and it would run alongside a stock GB500,for top speed.Once the GB's got worked over they would leave me behind. Then I broke the transmission. I still own this one,it is waiting it's turn for repair.

This is a very special Ducati.I halved a 450 R/T motor into a former 500 GTL chassis.Other big improvements were a better seat, styled like a Laverda.Moto Morini 6 spoke Grimeca wheels with a rear disk brake. This bike has carried me to Canada for the Sport bike Rally,in Parry Sound Ontario, twice.Aside from other outings more local. It was a regular infront of the old Ace Cafe,in Roscoe village.
I still own it,it is waiting it's turn for service. You just can't buy a rideable Ducati single for $700,swap motors to a better chassis and ride it for 10,000+ miles anymore without it going bad. It has suffered a bum right side main bearing. Not uncommon for the model, but a huge repair.

This one is not mine.It is better know as THE ride of Cleo-Thorp.
It is a 250 Ossa Wildfire. If you see him ask him to explain the workings of the "IRZ" carburetor.

This one is very well known. Green Lighten’ Actually a 1967 350 Ducati Scrambler. Easily what most of you associate me with. Fred-Green Ducati Single. Found as it is, still, outside of Glenview circa 1996.Was forced to buy two other bikes to get this one. What a deal. Thanks to Cliff Berger for finding this one, and passing it on to me. While I did empty out the original motor chasing a buddy on his souped up Buell, another bike was procured from Tim Smith, and the motor was swapped. The paint is very not original. Satin metallic green, a yellow stripe, and white fenders? That is the sign of too many years spraying vehicles without a mask.
It should be black framed, blood red tank with a silver stripe. Outlined in yellow pinstripe. White squared edge fenders are correct for this early wide case bike.
While the color is incorrect, it is done so well and so period, I can’t bring myself to change it.
I have made many upgrades to the bike over the years, as it has been a staple of my stable for a long time. Mostly as a winter bike. It has also trained a flock of beginners, been crashed by experienced road racers, hit by cars, gawked at by confused bystanders asking- where the rest of the parts are, had some key parts stolen to support someone else's bike, Best of all, it has always started in a couple of kicks and ran flawlessly. Unless I run out of gas…sorry to the ladies following me at TWALD ’07.
I still own it and ride it as routinely as I can.

Continuing on we have this—1965 R27 250 BMW This is a widely renown bike amidst the community. Mostly for how slow it is. I rode with Matt Schultz to Jackson, Michigan for a Suzi rally in Oct. Matt on his Ural with sidecar. Matt was so proud that his bike made it outside of Cook County, without the effort of a truck. The R27 was faster in acceleration than the Ural, luckily for Matt we cold both hold the same top speed. 65mph. The R27 came home in a truck after a Generator failure. Once again the Germans fall to the superior ruggedness of the Russkies. I lent it to my pal Mike Tanaka to ride back to his condo one night. He was passed by a bicycle messenger on Halstead st.
I was once pestered by a tipsy girl at a bar that I had to give her a ride on my motorcycle. I said “sure, let’s go for a quick ride around the block.” After we got back to the club she promptly got off, stomped away and disappeared. It did take an hour to go around the block.
I still have the bike, it was a left over after a dear friend died.
Thanks to Young Kevin for the photo.
